Talk to us about your work featured here. What are the main themes and ideas you explore in it?
"BLOOMING:BEAUTY_006" is part of a series (the BLOOMING.BEAUTY series) composed of 9 artworks. Therefore, this work, as well as the whole series, focuses on a posed human subject that is integrated with natural elements, such as grass and flowers, which through a play of light and shadow want to bring the subject itself to life. The work, and also the series, want to evoke a reflection in the viewer, trying to make one think about how man and nature can exist together, integrate, almost in a sort of dance that wants to enhance the beauty of this union.
Describe your creative process.
My creative process is quite simple and straightforward. It all starts with observation and research, which is the phase that takes the most time and requires special attention, because in this world everything can be a source of inspiration. Once I have found the idea, I start to create the scene I have imagined through 3D software, and there then begins the whole process of creating, editing and, in the end, rendering the scene to obtain the digital image that best represents the vision I had for the project. The last step involves passing the image through photo retouching software, just to file some defects and add some details.
What are the main influences and inspirations behind your art?

Well, I could draw up a very long and endless list. Essentially on an artistic level I am often impressed by everything Baroque, Art Nouveau and Surreal. I often like to lose myself in abstraction and reflection. So I try to take elements both from great artists of the past, and from contemporary artists, graphic designers and creatives, who perhaps aim to express the same artistic concepts that I try to express.
What do you consider the strongest aspect of your work?
The ‘strongest’ aspect of my art is its ability to blend the digital, the human, and the natural poetically. I aim to have a unique way of using technology to capture the essence of organic forms and create dreamlike, ethereal compositions. Moreover, the fusion of the artificial and the natural is a recurring theme in my work, from the VR landscapes in the upcoming series of works ‘VISORS’, through the union of technology, humanity, and nature in the series ‘NATURAE.MACHINA’, to the way I try to use digital tools to enhance the beauty of nature in contact with human beings in the series ‘BLOOMING.BEAUTY’.
The aim is to create a visually striking and thought-provoking aesthetic, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between humanity and the natural world in the age of technology.
What message or emotion do you hope viewers take away from experiencing your art?
I hope that those who view my art are struck by multiple emotions, because the ultimate goal is reflection. Certainly, I hope that a viewer, at first glance, feels wonder and amazement. But I also hope that, after this initial emotional wave, the viewer begins to ask questions about the work, perhaps investigating it and thus developing emotions such as melancholy and anguish, essential for building a critical sense towards our actions and our relationship, as humanity, little inclined to respect nature. Certainly, everything must always arouse curiosity and fascination, necessary precisely to develop this willingness to investigate and reflect on ourselves and the reality we live in.
What is the biggest challenge for an artist? What is the hardest part of this job?
I think the main problem for an artist is to become known, especially when they start their artistic journey and take their first steps. However, I believe that the greatest difficulty lies within our own minds, and it's the obstacle of putting oneself out there. We all, to some extent, are blocked when it comes to showing something of our own, we fear criticism and are afraid to face the frustrating reality of not being understood. But it's a natural and physiological step in the artistic journey, and once overcome, everything becomes clearer and easier.
What is the most rewarding part of being an artist?
For me, the most rewarding part of being an artist is receiving questions about a piece and my work, because it's the best way to understand how I'm progressing on my path, and because I know that my goal of evoking something in the viewer has been achieved.
How do you balance tradition and innovation in your practice?
My work strives to balance tradition and innovation. I draw inspiration from timeless artistic principles, such as exploring nature and focusing on craftsmanship. I seamlessly integrate digital tools and experiment with emerging technologies like VR/AR. This fusion of traditional values with cutting-edge techniques creates a unique aesthetic, making my work both visually striking and intellectually stimulating.
What does "good art" mean to you? What makes a piece of art great?
For me, truly good art goes beyond mere aesthetics. It's about evoking emotion, sparking thought, and leaving a lasting impact. A truly great piece should move the viewer, challenge their perspectives, and possess an undeniable originality. It should reflect the artist's unique voice and vision, executed with technical skill and mastery. Ultimately, while subjective, I believe good art should resonate with viewers across time and cultures, speaking to universal human experiences and emotions.
What is the role of the artist today?
The artist today serves as a crucial voice within society. We act as mirrors, reflecting the anxieties, joys, and complexities of the human experience. We challenge norms, push boundaries, and offer alternative perspectives on social, political, and environmental issues. Through our work, we can spark conversations, foster empathy, and inspire action towards a more just and equitable society. In an increasingly fragmented world, art can bridge divides and create a shared sense of humanity. We also play a vital role in exploring the future, experimenting with new technologies and artistic forms, and envisioning possible futures. Artists are essential for navigating the complexities of the 21st century, offering unique insights and perspectives.
