Fay Wood is an American artist whose creative career spans over six decades. After studying at the Massachusetts College of Art, she married and raised two children, relocating more than twenty times across the United States while continuing to paint. Her artistic practice evolved significantly after meeting sculptor Jasmine Saunders, whose influence led Wood to begin carving wood and incorporating found objects into her work—an approach that soon earned her recognition and local awards.
Wood has exhibited widely, with major appearances at the Florence Biennale, in Cologne, and at numerous venues across the United States. Following the loss of her husband in 2019 and a period of creative silence during the pandemic, a music video unexpectedly reawakened her artistic drive. This moment of inspiration gave rise to her ongoing sculptural series “The Three Ring Pandemic Circus”, a body of work marked by poignancy, resilience, and a deeply personal narrative.
