Howard Harris, a Denver, Colorado, native, has long been captivated by the interplay of visual perception and design. He earned a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MID (Master’s in Industrial Design) from Pratt Institute in New York, where he studied under the internationally renowned design theorist Rowena Reed Kostellow.


With over 35 years of experience blending design and technology, Harris has received numerous prestigious professional awards. In recent years, he has redirected his creative energy toward his lifelong passion for photography. True to his iconoclastic nature, Harris approaches photographic imagery in an unconventional and innovative manner.


In 2017, Harris was granted United States Patent No. 9,753,295, titled Apparatus and Method of Manufacturer for a Layered Artwork, affirming the uniqueness and inventiveness of his photographic techniques. Since then, his work has been featured in prominent books and publications, including The Great Masters of Contemporary Art, ARTtour International Artists of the Decade, Art Collectors Choice Japan, International Contemporary Masters, and Top 10 Contemporary Artists. He has received numerous accolades, such as Artists for a Green Planet Artist of the Decade, International Prize Raffaello, International Prize Giulio Cesare, International Prize Leonardo Da Vinci, International Prize Caravaggio, and Contemporary Art Curator Magazine’s Artist of the Future.


Harris serves as a Trustee of the Kansas City Art Institute and has been honored with the Who’s Who Worldwide Lifetime Achievement Award and USA Small Businessperson of the Year. His work is exhibited internationally, represented by galleries in the United States, the U.K., and Europe, and is part of the collection of the Yukyung Art Museum in South Korea.
