Adi Zur was born in Tel Aviv, where she studied philosophy and worked as an art teacher before immigrating to Toronto. She later studied at OCAD University, graduating with an Honours degree. Now a full-time artist, she exhibits her works in various galleries and has been featured in several art publications.
Zur's paintings reflect her profound interest in ancient knowledge and the concept of a "connector"—an umbilical cord linking humanity to both the distant past and the future. This idea of connection inspires much of her artistic exploration. Using oil paint, she incorporates collage elements, including photographs taken randomly in her daily life and headlines from newspapers. Her work seeks to give shape to the hidden forms of this shared knowledge, uncovering a deeply personal interpretation of a collective past.
