Hara Marian is a Romanian artist born in 1977 in Sighisoara, whose practice is deeply informed by personal memory, mythology, and lived experience. He first discovered his love for drawing in early childhood, preserving many of his early works. His creative journey began with ceramic studies during gymnasium and took an unexpected turn when he worked for several years in natural gas exploration—a dangerous profession that profoundly shaped his worldview.
The pivotal moment in Marian’s artistic development came when the University of Art Cluj opened a branch near his village, allowing him to pursue formal training and earn a master's degree in fine art. His work reflects a deep fascination with the symbolic language of world mythology and themes such as time, mortality, and inner transformation.
Now living and working in a village near Sighisoara, Marian continues to create artworks that emerge from a space of introspection and cultural resonance, drawing the viewer into a contemplative dialogue between myth and reality.
