Frank Stassar was born in 1962 in Breda, the Netherlands, and is currently based in Amsterdam. He studied at *de Academie voor Beeldende Vorming* in Tilburg (Academy for Visual Arts) and has pursued a life in art and education that reflects his deep belief in the transformative power of creativity. Since relocating to Amsterdam in 1993—a city he considers a sanctuary for the free-spirited—Stassar has embraced a multidisciplinary practice that merges teaching, visual arts, and community engagement.

As an educator at a secondary school in Haarlem, he teaches art, film, and theater through immersive multimedia projects. His pedagogical approach blurs the lines between artist and teacher, creating a collaborative space where students and instructors explore artistic disciplines together. His classroom is a living studio, where personal visions are shared and shaped in dialogue with broader cultural narratives. Emphasizing creativity as an essential human quality, Stassar integrates visual and performing arts, cinema, literature, photography, and more into an evolving curriculum of exploration and expression.

Stassar’s philosophy is rooted in connection—between generations, disciplines, and the inner and outer world. His educational work is as much an artistic act as his visual practice, driven by the belief that the arts are not merely expressive tools, but vital frameworks for understanding, shaping, and healing the world around us. In both his life and work, he champions a vision of humanity that is curious, collaborative, and under continual creative construction.
